Présent dans le guide du syndicat d'initiative de 1914 avec une photo de Giffart : " Nous revendiquons comme nos concitoyens les J.Bowen, Bulfield, Desouches, Th.Deyrolle, Alfred-Victor Fournier, Ch.Fromuth, Granchi-Taylor, Grün, Guédon, Alfred Guillou, Guinier, Harrison, Henriet, Mlle Herland, Hirschfeld, Janssaud, Kite, labitte, Legout-Gérard, Mme Leuze-Hirschfeld, Camille de Malherbe, Morin, Pressiliano, Miss Silley, Stelle, Thiébaut, Vollon, Webb. " Un certain Hugues Bowen, peintre, né le 24 mai 1865, venant de Dublin est également inscrit dans " L' Etat des étrangers en résidence à Concarneau en 1891 ".
On sait que Sydney Thompson reprit l'atelier de B.. Bowen à Kerdorlett, quartier de Concarneau. Je possède peu d'informations sur ce peintre.
